About Dr. Keith B. Stolte, MD, FACS

Dr. Keith B. Stolte M.D., F.A.C.S. is a physician with over 30 years of experience, now specializing in ophthalmology and anti-aging medicine. He heads the in Springhill, Florida-based Stolte Eye Center, serving the greater Tampa Bay area, and is licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Antigua. He was an associate professor at the University of South Florida in the 1990's.

A Newark, New Jersey native, Dr. Stolte graduated Magnum Cum Laude in 1978 from the University of Rome Medical School and interned in Internal Medicine at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. He was invited to serve a 3 1/2 year residency at Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA from 1980 to 1983, which included rotations at Stanford University in Palto Alto, CA, for Clinical Science, and Puerto Rico for extended surgical training.

Dr. Stolte has peformed over 20,000 cataract surgeries. Serving as a consultant for Rhein Medical on the newest instruments in cataract surgery, he is an expert in cataract instrumentation, and has written articles on surgical techniques, including sutureless cataract surgery and the benefits of capsulorhexis forceps. He also holds two U.S. patents for cataract instruments.

Dr. Stolte was personally trained in refractive surgery by Leo Boris, MD, the American father of Radial Keratotomy, and Flava Fyodopov, MD, the Russian inventor of Radial Keratotomy. In 1988, he performed the first micro surgery procedure in Peru and trained their doctors in refractive surgery. Today, Dr. Stolte has performed more than 1,800 LASIK procedures and continues to conduct research and receive certifications in the newest and most innovative technologies and instrumentation for these surgeries.
