Dr. Stolte conducts thorough eye examinations, using state of
the art equipment, to establish one's eye sight and the health of the eye. Our
comprehensive eye examinations look for early signs of eye disease such as
glaucoma and cataracts. Diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and
vascular disease can also be detected in the eyes. The eye can give clues to
general health as well as eye conditions, and an eye examination is therefore an
important part of health care.

This gives us information on how a patient is focusing on a object with
high speed and accurate measurement.

Keratron
 |
The 28-ring Placido cone allows coverage over 90% of
the corneal surface. Peripheral measurements are extremely important for
the analysis of the transition areas in refractive surgery, for correct
simulation of contact lens fitting and for the diagnosis of peripheral
dystrophies.
The "Arc-Step" calculation method, as well as many other proprietary
algorithms in the software, allows the measurement of both curvature and
height at each point on the cornea with a resolution and accuracy of less
then one micron.
The patented Eye Position Control System (EPCS) allows image acquisition
only at the correct focusing distance; and lateral misalignments are
automatically corrected. Repeatability checking is provided.
The large, high-resolution monitor clearly displays the tear film and the
ring images during examinations, in order to avoid artefacts. It also
recalls previously acquired images.

Zeiss Digital Imaging System
 |
The world’s first digital-ready fundus photography
system. Three separate magnification systems at 20, 30 and 50 degrees
provide superior resolution and flexibility in documenting specific ocular
conditions. the Fundus Camera will give the ultimate in image quality,
diagnostic versatility and ability to upgrade to future technologies.
Multiple image overlay, merge and graphics functions give the Doctor a
broader range of diagnostic tools. This will allow us to take close-up
photos of the cornea, the fundus and disc. it allows us to see the back of
the eye to detect damage from eye diseases such as macular degeneration or
glaucoma.

IOL Master
 |
The difference between good vision and great vision
after cataract surgery can be attributed to the diagnostic technology used
to calculate the appropriate IOL. This technology provides our patients
with the opportunity for the best possible visual outcome. The IOLMaster
is a great advancement in IOL calculation because it uses very short light
waves to measure axial length instead of much longer ultrasound waves,
resulting in about three times the accuracy of ultrasound devices. The
risk of confusing right and left eye measurements is eliminated with this
technology because the IOLMaster automatically detects the right or left
eye while taking the measurement . Axis length, corneal diameter, corneal
radii and anterior-chamber depth of the eye are measured with the
IOLMaster. However, we actually get slightly more accurate and repeatable
measurements using a manual ophthalmometer to measure corneal radii, so
that is our standard. Measuring the eye with the IOLMaster takes less time
than using ultrasound, the traditional form of measurement that requires
eyedrop anesthesia.

Perimetry
(Visual Field Test)

|
Validated by decades of research and clinical
experience, HFA is the accepted standard of care in glaucoma diagnosis and
management. With HFA you can feel confident you're providing the best
possible care for your patients.
Confident glaucoma management
Glaucoma Progression Analysis software provides advanced, accurate
progression analysis for better glaucoma management. It helps quantify the
likelihood of progression and identify high-risk patients.
GPA accurately identifies clinically significant progression and
simplifies interpretation of exam results with plain-language
explanations.
GPA is based on detailed empirical knowledge of the variability found at
all stages of glaucomatous visual field loss through information acquired
in extensive multi-center clinical trials worldwide.
Fast, reliable testing with no compromise in accuracy
STATPAC™, the language of perimetry, compares results to clinically
validated, world class, proprietary age-normative and glaucoma databases.
In just 3 to 6 minutes–a third of the time of previous tests–new SITA
SWAP™ software and the HFA make blue-yellow threshold testing a clinically
practical tool for early detection of glaucoma.
HFA has the widest range of testing protocols on any perimeter. And the
ergonomic design promotes maximum comfort, patient wheelchair access and
versatility.

Heidelberg Retina Tomograph II
 |
During the past decade, major eye centers around the
world have used scanning laser systems from Heidelberg Engineering for
their research and clinical work.
For exact data in glaucoma research the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph has
become the system of choice. In more than 150 peer-reviewed papers and
hundreds of abstracts, study results have confirmed unsurpassed
reproducibility and consistent longitudinal data. As a result, the highest
diagnostic precision to differentiate between normal eyes and early
glaucomatous eyes - even before any visual field defect has been
confirmed.
Three-dimensional optic nerve head topography analysis by laser scanning
tomography has been shown to be superior to all other imaging
technologies. Because of its advantages, this technology is now generally
accepted and used to provide the best service possible for glaucoma
patients and patients at risk. It is the smallest scanning laser ever,
light, portable and ready for telemedicine. It features automatic image
acquisition, sector analysis for early glaucoma detection, and automatic
progression analysis. Also, all results are presented in a format which is
understood by patients to ensure their compliance.
